Kashmir surround by two major Himalayan ranges, the Great Himalayan and The Pir Panjal. Jammu & Kashmir is known throughout the country and the world for its natural beauty. Breathtaking mountain ranges, crystal clear streams, shrines, glaciers, and gardens add up to the grandeur of the place, It is also known as a Paradise of the earth. The state has been divided into three regions, Kashmir Valley, Jammu, and Ladakh.
Ladakh is the heights region in India under the state of Jammu and Kashmir and it is located much of it being over 3,000 meter. It is located on the foothill of Karakoram Mountain which is subrange of the Hindu Kush Himalayan Range. Ladakh is also called The Land of Mountain Passes.
Our one week long package ‘Across Kashmir to Ladakh’ will give you the chance to explore the two different regions of Jammu and Kashmir State, across the several popular destinations such as Srinagar, Sonamarg, Kargil, Lamayuru , Pangong Lake and Nubra Valley.
Itinerary
Day 1: Srinagar - Kargil Sightseeing
On arrival in Srinagar airport, you meet and greet by our representative, proceed to Kargil. Kargil is second largest district town in Ladakh region of Jammu & Kashmir. It is about 204 kilometer from Srinagar and about 60 kilometer from Drass. It is located on the banks of the Suru River along with an average elevation of 2,676 meters, which is one of the most beautiful town of Jammu & Kashmir. En route halt in Sonamarg, which is around 94 kilometers away. Thereafter, you will leave for Drass village, famous as the second coldest place in the world. You can visit Kargil war memorial here. Upon arrive in Kargil town and check into the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 2: Kargil - Ulleytokpo
After early breakfast, transfer to Ulleytokpo, by road which is 160 kilometers away from Leh. En route visit an oldest rock-cut statue of Maitreya Buddha in Mulbekh village, you can take photo stop the lunar landscapes in proximity to the Lamayuru monastery. On arrival at Ulleytokpo, check in to Ulley Resort for overnight stay.
Day 3: Ulley - Leh Sightseeing
Today after early breakfast proceed to Leh by road. Leh is one of the largest town of Ladakh region which is situated at a crossroads of the old trading routes from Tibet and Kashmir. On the way, visit Likir monastery, the Gelugpa monastery of Likir is headed by Dalai Lama’s younger brother, Narai Rimpoche, Hall of Fame and the meeting point of Indus and Zanskar River. In the afternoon, arrive in Leh, check-in at the hotel. After freshen up. In the evening around proceed to visit Shanti Stupa and the local bazaars in Leh. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 4: Leh
Post breakfast proceed for full day sightseeing tour of the Indus Valley which include visits to Thiksey monastery, Shey Palace, Stok Place and Hemis monastery, here you can participate in the prayers and do some meditation in the hotel.
Day 5: Leh - Nubra Valley Sightseeing
Today morning, after breakfast proceed to Nubra Valley via Khardungla Pass by road. This valley is located at the banks of the pure Nubra River. The Valley is also called the Valley of the flowers, which contained the vibrant, colourful and the most beautiful flowers set amidst lush green landscape. It is also one of the most famous attraction of the Leh Ladakh. It is located from approximately 115 kilometres from Leh. In the afternoon, enjoy camel safari on the white sand dunes and explore Hunder, Diskit monasteries. Stay overnight at the Deluxe Camp.
Day 6: Nubra Valley - Leh
After breakfast, proceed to visit the Samstanling monastery. In the afternoon, transfer back to Leh by road. Evening is free at leisure. Stay overnight in the hotel.
Day 7: Leh to Pangong Lake
In the morning, enjoy a full day excursion to Pangong Lake, Itis located at the height of 4350 meters approximately from the sea level which extends from India to Tibet. It is about 150 kilometres from Leh. About 60% length of the lake are situated in Tibet. In the evening, drive back to Leh. On arrival in Leh, check in to hotel. Overnight at hote.
Day 8: Leh - Departure
